CHI: OPENING THE WAY TO THE SPIRITUAL VIRTUES OF EKUMEKU
Life is a mystery to those who lack the knowledge of self. For they see life as a tragedy and see themselves as victims of that tragedy. But to those who have attained the knowledge of self, life is a struggle. These conscious people see life as a struggle to overcome evil by doing good. This is the basic and the fundamental philosophy of EKUMEKU. This philosophy speaks to the mind and heart of all humanity. We live in an interdependent world of ideas where good cannot exist without evil. As a result, it is a world of struggle to overcome evil in order to do good. In this world of struggle, evil may appear to be good and good may appear to be evil because both exist to provide meanings to our lives. This is where the knowledge of self and the knowledge of the enemy become very important. Through knowledge, it becomes possible for human beings to discover the paradoxical character of truth which makes it possible for them to understand the differences between what is evil and what is good.
Knowing what is evil and what is good depends on one’s location in the universe due to the fact that nothing is absolute in the material universe. Because nothing is absolute, the struggle to overcome evil by doing good must be a continuous process. It is not a one time thing. Instead, it has to be a way of life. Everyday we exist in this universe, it is our moral obligation to struggle to overcome evil by doing good. It is a challenge, a responsibility that can only be accomplished through the devotion of purpose to the everlasting Truth of the One Creator of the universe whose Divine Intelligence makes possible the human manifestation of wisdom, power, and balance on the planet. At the same time, the belief in the Supreme Being must be based on the knowledge of the inner workings of the universe which will reveal the true character of the One Creator of the universe, and not the created images of the human mind, to those who seek to know what is Hidden.
Life is a constant struggle between good and evil, right and wrong, order and disorder, etc., and it is not a static process, but a dynamic one. That is why, it takes first knowledge and second practice to triumph over the evil forces of life. Real knowledge helps us to locate ourselves in time and space. It makes it possible for one to make the right decisions concerning the challenges of life. And it is one of the most important ingredients in our humanity. Commitment through practice to the principles of life becomes a lot easier when one has attained the knowledge of self and the knowledge of the enemy. But the knowledge of the enemy must be attained at first in its abstract form because the enemy is both internal and external.
The forces of the enemy reside in every human being which can reveal the internal component of the enemy. The internal enemy within us must be overcome before we can become capable of overcoming the external forces of the enemy. However, it is also possible that the discovery of the external forces of the enemy simultaneously can lead to the discovery of the internal enemy which forms part of our character. Nevertheless, there is no dichotomy between the internal enemy and the external enemy. What exists is a harmonious fusion. The enemy within determines how the enemy without affects our lives. If we have the enemy within under control, it will affect the way the enemy without affects our lives. This emphasis is important because it is the tendency of many people to focus on the external enemy alone while neglecting the internal enemy within us. But it is the internal enemy that affects our lives more than the external enemy. The external enemy feeds on our weaknesses which exist because of the internal enemy that resides within us.
When we have the internal enemy under control, we will naturally minimize the ability of the external enemy to destroy our lives. Hence, the knowledge of the enemy begins to crystallize when one is looking in the mirror. When you look in the mirror, whatever image you see in the mirror, which has to be the image of yourself, is the representation of the enemy within. Try to deal with this internal enemy through your own individual struggle to overcome evil in order to do good. Without understanding this important truth, every other effort will be a window dressing.
Knowledge of the inner workings of the universe is the key that unlocks the mystery of life. This knowledge is the power of self-realization of the essence of the infinite within us and around us. It does not reside in the ivory towers of the so-called modern institutions of higher learning. It resides in all of us. And it is the power to connect with the eternal Truth of the One Creator of the universe whose abiding Pure Spirit we all embody. We who are the devoted followers of the Divine Plan of AMUN in whom we trust teach to those who want to discover their human potentials through the process of self-discovery and self-mastery. It is the philosophy of EKUMEKU that the mastery of the governing laws of the universe cannot be the exclusive property of any particular group. We know and believe that this knowledge of eternal life belongs to those who follow the eternal laws of seeking truth first developed by our ancient Kemetic ancestors for humanity. We are here to serve the interest of all humanity.
For the sake of truth, and for the sake of harmony, the planet belongs to those who claim it and abide by its eternal laws. We enter, live, and exit from this Planet through knowledge, truth, and immortality. From the day we are born, we are challenged by the divine paradox of life to discover our destiny and either fulfill or betray it through obedience or disobedience to the laws of the universe. With knowledge we are able to discover our location in the universe, through ontology we begin to appreciate the nature of truth, and immortality helps us to understand the purpose of the human life. As we curb our material desires and passions of the physical body, we develop the ability to apprehend the infinite meaning of existence.
Every human being has the potential ability to overcome the evil forces that exist in the lower plane of life. The energy on the lower plane feeds the animal tendencies that make the composition of matter in the human body create and assimilate energy. The spiritual vitality of the human body becomes active through the cultivation of its principles by a person who has developed the ability to transcend the lower plane of life. The power of self-realization of the essence of the infinite within us and around us exists on the higher plane which embodies the higher energy that makes spirituality the connective force in the universe. This spiritual development begins with the recognition of the interdependent order of the universe and how this order regulates the governing laws of the universe. Given that every human being is a miniature universe, the metaphysical vehicles that exist in the larger universe have identical functions in the human body. So we can only tap into the energy reserve in the universe when we begin to realize the power that we have within ourselves.
